Chateau Rousselle - Prestige

Vintage: 2002
Type: Bordeaux
Country: France

This wine is quite aged, which is why when the glass is leaned against white paper, the colour fades toward the rim. The colour verges on brown rather than red. The nose is very mossy and earthy; however, the taste is light and peppery (cloves). This is a fairly alcoholic wine, which is shown by the legs running down the sides of the glass after giving it a good swirl.

Vina Mara

Vintage: 2003
Type: Rioja
Country: Spain

I enjoyed this wine, but Rioja is not a favourite type for me, thus I don’t really have a good base to compare this one. A nice change, with good flavour.

Railroad Red

Vintage: 2003
Type: Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
Country: Western Cape - South Africa

This wine was OK. It had a sharp taste that most Shiraz have, but it overpowered the rest of the flavours if the wine. I would recommend a pass on this one (but if it is on sale, you might want to try it out.)

Hardys Crest

Vintage: 2002
Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Country: South Eastern Australia

A very good wine, with an excellent flavour and zest. One of the better Cabernet Sauvignons.

Georges de Boeuf

Vintage: 2002
Type: French red (not sure of the grape)
Country: France - Beaujolais

One of my favourites. A great colour, excellent bouquet and an amazing flavour. It isn’t overpowering so it will go well with most food. If you can get a hold of a bottle, try it!

Crocodile Rock

Vintage: 2002
Type: Cabernet Merlot
Country: Murray Valley - Australia

Not a bad wine. Not as strong as a Cabernet, but it is easy and enjoyable to dirnk.
